Interestingly, 111 years to the day after King Norodom I signed his first treaty with the French, the Khmer Rouge entered, took control and totally emptied Phnom Penh. They are beautiful, fun and alive! They will try to sell you staf, repeating same frase in different languages, but instead buying crap from them, stop and spend time with them, get to know their names, who is who's friend and what they like to do, after that you'll give them a candy's and they will give you the most beautiful smile you'll ever see

I was thouroughly acclimatised by then, so I just baked myself to a crisp, but many Westerners on that boat spent their time at Siem Reap being mistaken for over-cooked lobsters. If you must hire a tuk-tuk from the landing, make sure the driver is wearing a vest with his number on it, that way if he tries to double the price, (it will already be very high), just take down his number and threaten to report him

A word of caution on the boat, while I hadn't personally been on it, I think the water level can have a bearing on the length of the journey I presume we're in the dry season or very near it at the moment?
