Similarly, in the episode "A Visit from Lena Horne", when Lamont comes downstairs and is surprised to see Lena Horne visiting his house, he grabs his chest and begins speaking to his dead mother (in the same manner as his father): I think I'm havin' one, pop! My very first one! And it's a big one! Ya hear that, mom? Your little boy's comin' to join ya...with a moustache! Another related running gag was Fred complaining about having arthritis to get out of doing work by showing Lamont his cramped hand. (One example of this is the time Lamont is upbraided by a Nigerian woman he hopes to impress by "adopting" African culture; she considers his attitude towards Fred to be disrespectful.) There are moments when Lamont is shown to be naive and foolish, such as the episode where he invites his new "friends" over to play poker

0 General Comment:okay see i think theres a littttle more to it then most people are saying, i do think it was about a guy who had someone he loved very much, ran in the other direction, and then missed them again but, people are saying he was running from commitment he wasnt ready to have, yes right, but i also see him being justified in his leaving, like maybe she was asking more then he had to offer, maybe she wanted promises he couldnt make, he knows they are young and maybe nothing is forever, maybe she brought an extra burden to his life, and he was already going through other things so he had to leave her for his own good. 0 i found something that could be spiritual the lyric "but hold on to what you believe in the light in when the darkness has robbed you of all your sight." the bible says to jesus is the way the truth and the light
