I suspect it won't be too much longer before we start to see other SSD manufactures taking a closer look at Samsung 20nm flash for their SSD products built on other SSD controllers. We've seen Samsung controllers in the past, some of the first SSD products we reviewed were based on Samsung controllers and they were very stable and very fast for their day

Greater Durability The non-mechanical design of NAND flash mounted to circuit boards is extremely durable, unlike HDDs and their rotating disks and seeking spindles

Pricing aside, the Samsung 830 series makes an excellent SSD and it's also one of the best-looking on the market, something that's not a must-have but still a welcome bonus for an internal drive, in case you want to use it as a gift. For better performance it's recommended that you use the latest version of the OSes that support the TRIM command, such as Windows 7 and Mac OS 10.6 or later

Since running into this problem, I see that Crucial doesn't have this issue and OCZ had it but fixed it quickly. This drive is going out and the Crucial drive is coming in. The best I can get is a 1.5GB (SATA not SATA II) negotiated link speed.I even went to the length of installing windows (just) to upgrade the firmware on the drive to the latest version but this didn't help.I have the latest EFI firmware on my system, the latest drivers, and the latest firmware on the SSD

This is the easiest and simplest solution for me (thanks to Carbon Copy Cloner as it copies everything including the operating system) and allows me to get back to work on my MBP with little to no down time and no hassles with reinstalling anything* Just in case people were wondering, this was my first time swapping out any hard drive, so I have little experience with computer components, yet it was super easy for me to do.I'm currently running my new SSD with no issues and enjoying the speed that comes with having a SSD vs the traditional hard drive
