Although marketed to middle school kids, it is one of those rare gems that spans ages (but probably not for children younger than ten as there is a scene describing a homeless man getting hit by a car). Really, my mom was yelling at me to get out the door and I yelled saying "5 more minutes, let me finish!" I really recommend this book to any tween boy or girl! It's easy to imagine readers studying Miranda's story as many times as she's read L'Engle's, and spending hours pondering the provocative questions it raises

Where did the crazy laughing man on the corner come from? What's up with Marcus, the boy who punched Sal for no reason, and is it just a coincidence that he also knows a lot about A Wrinkle in Time ? Who is sending the notes, and better yet, when? Will Miranda put the pieces of the puzzle together and finally understand it when you reach me ? Why I picked up this book : Other librarians were saying great things about it and then it won the 2010 Newbery Award. The author does a very good job with this book giving details and leaving you in suspense with EVERY chapter you read! This book is for sure five stars because its so good and leaves me hanging each time
