How these things work is they have a Current run thru them and depending on where the Magnet is at (the part on the stick) it changes the flow of the Current in this Sensor. I personally do not know anything about modding, I am more of an auto guy myself but enjoy gaming and enjoy having buttons customized to my huge hands, it makes the controller much more comfortable for me to use

But the worst thing about this controller is the LEDs in it, I know, I know, it's glow in the dark, but when you are playing a game it is horribly distracting when you have blinding light shining in your eyes. R3 and L3 are considerably much more difficult to press down than Sony's controller (which I find strange considering in so many games R3 and L3 are important buttons)

Almost all the 360 wireless receivers on Amazon look shoddy and a lot of them just don't support Windows 7 (which I use) I know it is a bit much, but all the help will be much appreciated. There are also controllers that support BOTH direct input and xinput such as the Logitech F510 (wired) or F710 (Wireless) meaning you would no longer need to switch controllers for specific games
