Any solutions besides taking it to Apple for a new one? Squeezing definitely does effect it, but not necessarily always a positive effect and it is very temporary. What did you end up doing to fix the problem? (running IOS 4.1 on my iPhone 4, not jailbroken) So I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 and the led light is always on or flickering

A few days ago the screen froze and it turned itself off and back on but it got stuck on startup screen (the black one with the silver apple logo on) and stayed like that for ages but eventually the battery ran flat so i recharged it and it worked again. the apple store genius suggested it was likely a hardware issue, but i'm a little nervous to jailbreak again (she needs tethering) for fear of the same thing happening again. anyone have any clear diagnosis of the cause of the dead iphone? would feel better of re-enabling tethering for her via jailbreak if I knew it had nothing to do with the iphone going dead
